The Castle located in Barberino di Mugello, at 250 metres on the sea level, is the most prestigious building of the whole area.
It was realized by the Architect Michelozzo made to order of Cosimo the Elder, expanding an old fortress, and it has a surface of 1.005 square meters.
The Castle is distributed on three levels and is covered by a roof trusses on a wooden frame.
The masonry structure is plastered both in the external and the internal spaces.
The Castle is provided of vault attics in the ground floor and of wood attics in the first floor.
The Ground Floor and the First Floor include large living rooms (any rooms are embellished by frescoes), the Second Floor includes large and small rooms of which any are interconnecting.
The structure is generally in good condition.
The state of maintenance of the Ground Floor environments and some to the First Floor is good.
The Second Floor has to be restored.
The roof coverage was recently completely restructured also in the wooden frame.
Some channels of gutter were replaced and some plasters of the internal fronts were arranged (courtyard).
The plasters of the external south, east and north fronts are to be restructured.
The Cellars Floor includes a local, where are located the boilers for the heating of any rooms of the Ground and the First Floor, any east/north locals for the barrels and other southern interconnecting locals.
The property includes also two stone courtyards and it is surrounded by a large tree-lined park in good state of maintenance.
