We celebrated my 60th birthday here, with a gathering of friends and family. The house is beautifully situated next to the ruins of an old church, with a lovely swimming pool and spectacular views of the steep, terraced hillsides plunging down to the sea. We arranged for a cook for four nights, and what we got were the twins whose father owns the house. They're amazing cooks, charming, generous, open-hearted people, and they even professionally trained masseurs! For those in good shape it's a lovely walk down 1500 step to Amalfi--and back up if you're truly fit! This isn't a rental for the infirm or very elderly, or for anyone not willing to walk the 209 step to the nearing parking spot, but for the hale and hearty the breathtaking views make this walk more than worthwhile. I enthusiastically recommend this house as a rental, and if you can, arrange for the twins (Marco and Pasquale) to cook for you. You'll love it!
