Casa del Monaco is a surprisingly elegant and luxurious apartment in the heart of Naples City. Situated in a former convent, it offers you a discrete environment and amazing quietness, totally in contrast with the typical Napolitan street life which you will find few metres from the old convent. Your private entrance is reachable by crossing the magnificent convent-courtyard. The apartment is decorated with style and sense of taste. It consists of an entrance room, wide living room with entrance to the private terrace and garden, kitchen, bathroom, a single bedroom and a double bedroom. Please note that for entering the double bedroom, passing trough the single bedroom is required.

Entrance room (15m2): writing desk, library. Living room (35m2): dining table up to 6 persons, 2 comfortable divans, cupboards, TV, DVD, VHS, entrance to terrace and garden. Kitchen (7m2): 4 piece-cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, cooking equipment. Bathroom (7m2): Shower, toilet, bidet. Single bedroom (15m2): radio, clothing cupboard. Double bedroom (15m2): drawer, clothing cupboard. Garden/Terrace (40 m2): garden furniture, tiled terrace, washing machine, garden. The apartment is provided with heating and is child friendly (baby-bed available). Cleaning service three times a week. Welcome package provided.

Once you have set your first footsteps on the airport, or outside the entrance of the central station, there's only one possibility: you hate the town, or you love it. The town has a rich history. At the end of the 18th century Naples was the cultural capital of Europe. Prominent persons like Goethe, Wagner and Oscar Wilde came to the Gulf of Naples in order to sojourn comfortably. Nowadays, in the 21st century Naples is poor, authentic, but mainly: honest. On the west side is the splendid boulevard where you can saunter and gape at the expensive Italian fashion in the shop-windows. In the east, behind the 'Mountain of God' is the old town centre. Complete chaos in the characteristic narrow alleys with the drying laundry hanging across the street. Scooters rush by on your left and right, people shout at each other from the balconies in their attempt to drown the loud music, and the smell of freshly baked pizzas, fish and pasta makes you shiver of delight in the theatre named Naples. Naples: city of countless churches and chapels, city of soccer and Diego Armando Maradona, city of the Vesuvius, Pompeï and of many places of interest, of the tropical Gulf of Naples with the islands of Capri, Ischia, and the Amalfi Coast, but most of all: city of the unique Napolitans. Drink, eat, dance, sing and love in this extraordinary, more or less forgotten place at the bottom of the Italian boot. The apartment lies in the Spanish Quarter. The Spanish Quarter is a symbol for the authentic Naples. The poverty is clearly present. Its inhabitants, however, demonstrate a rare friendliness, unheard of in the North. The southern mentality rules. Probably you will see heated discussions are conducted from the balconies. Look around and it seems like time has stood still. Narrow alleys connect the old and neglected palazzi. The laundry always hangs across the streets and the scooters dodge left and right between the hooting cars. The inhabitants make extra money by converting their living-room into pizzeria, grocery or garage. Religion means everything here. On every street corner is a chapel, and the worshipping of saints in the houses is unlimited. For the visitor who wants to taste the real Naples this is an unforgettable experience.
