The coast of Amalfi stretches 50 km between Sorrento and Salerno and counts as one of Europe's most beautiful coastlines. A narrow road zig-zags with sharp bends and inlets along this spectacular peninsula. The sight of the picturesque villages jammed between the azure blue sea on the one side, steep rocky slopes on the other is literally breathtaking. From Sorrento you can take a boat to the famous island of Capri. But there are more imposing sights worth seeing in the area such as Pompei, the temples of Paestum and not forgetting the magnificent city of Naples.
Apartment Chiaro di luna is situated in the historical centre of Praiano, at short distance from the main road with shops, coffee bars and restaurants. This well-cured apartment is reached by climbing thirty steps. Inside lots of modern comfort is at your disposal; heating, air-conditioning, television washing machine and dishwasher. The living room is separate from the in Majolica tiles decorated kitchen by a low wall. The compact sun terrace in front of the entrance offers one of the most spectacular views of the coastline; the western part of the Amalfi Coast and at the horizon the island Li Galli and Capri.
Apartment Chiaro di luna breaths a fine Mediterranean atmosphere and is a very practical home base for making day trips in the region. The sand beach ‘La Praia' is reachable without climbing steps in five minutes by car or bus. The closer situated rock/stone beach ‘Gavitella' is reachable by using the stairs, beware of the many steps, a walk from the main road to this beach takes about 15 minutes. The bus stop, at only few meters from the apartment, is very suitable for visiting Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento.
In Praiano some well-known restaurants prepare traditional plates based on fresh fish. The white vines from close-ranged regions as Benevento and Avellino (Falaghina-grape) complete a delicious Italian lunch. Hours of pleasure walking and enjoying the scenery are guaranteed in Praiano and its surroundings. The cities of Positano, Ravello and Amalfi are well worth a visit.
