Apartment La Torretta lies in the centre of the village Conca dei Marini, a typically South Italian village clinging to the side of a mountain on the famous Amalfi Coast. This village has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. The Amalfi Coast is situated south of the bustling city of Naples. Here houses have been constructed in the most unlikely of places, against the limestone rocks that rise up out of the sea. Centuries-old pathways connect the beautiful towns of Amalfi, Positano, Praiano and Ravello. Rather understandably this coast is called the 'Divine Coast' by philosophers and poets. Conca dei Marini is hidden amidst green plants, within a short distance of bustling Amalfi. It has a fabulous, tranquil beach, considered one of the gems of the splendid nature.
With the assistance of the local major of Conca dei Marini we have been able to add the unique apartment La Torretta to our Amalfi Coast collection. The apartment occupies the upper floor of a tower build in the 18e century and owned for ages by an important and rich family of farmers from Conca. The tower is completely renovated in 2007 and a small staircase provides entrances to the deck from which spreads out a marvellous panorama over the Cape of Conca and the western part of the Amalfi Coast with the town of Praiano. During a stay in Casa La Torretta you can feel the history that has been written in this tower, while having at your disposal an excellent home base for exploring the coastline.
The green courtyard of the tower is reached by climbing app. 60 steps. This courtyard can be used to read or enjoy a glass of wine, but it is not exclusively reserved for the renters of the apartment. From the entrance you step in the living room with kitchen corner. A short staircase leads to a garret with a 2-persons bed. Here you will find as well the staircase to the roof. When we compare La Torretta to the more modern vacation rentals, please consider some restrictions. For example, the staircase to the roof is very small and steep, for this reason not suitable for children. The roof deck is not even, which makes the placement of furniture impossible. This deck is though suitable as a place to enjoy sunset or just to admire the breathtaking panorama.
Casa La Torretta is a special, panoramic apartment that besides her unique characteristics, also is an ideal home base for visiting the popular destinations as Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Capri.
